Membership in the Grotto requires being a Master Mason in good standing. The meeting place in Central Iowa is at Home Lodge # 370 in Pleasant Hill. The ladies group meets at the same time and these meetings are followed by a potluck; a very good potluck!
The official name of the order is: The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm and the URL for The Supreme Council is http://www.scgrotto.com/
The fezzes are black, just as the Shrine is red, and as the Tall Cedars of Lebanon has the triangular hat that emphasizes green. These are Masonic fun organizations each with their own serious purpose.
The Mission Statement of the Grottoes of North America is: “The Grottoes of North America is a charitable organization, dedicated to promoting Goodfellowship, Friendship and Fun amongst Master Masons.”
HAPAC is affiliated with The Central States Grotto Association - C.S.G.A. and The Midwest Grotto Association - M.W.G.A.
Charities include: Dental Program, Toothbrush Program, and Special Olympics. HAPAC Grotto also gives a contribution each year to the Children and Families Violence Center.
Grottoes are located in 35 states including four in Iowa:
