Brethren of Home Lodge#370,

Lodge News:                                                                                                                                                                                           June 2009

May began with a Great trip to our Masonic Library and Musuem in Cedar Rapids on May 2nd, it proved to be a very eventful and enlighting day for the Ten of us who made the trip. We were given the full 4 and ½ hour tour by Rite Worshipful Brother Tim Anderson. We were able to go into every locked vault and even handle any of the material that these vaults contained. It is truly amazing the Treasures and Liteture we “OWN” as Masons in Iowa. Iwould encorage every Mason in Iowa to vist and make their own assessment of what is in this place of History, and our Future to come. The day was cncluded with a fine meal in the Amana’s
and the bus ride home, a Good Day was had by all. (Photo on front of Trestle Board)

May 4th was our First golf outing at Toad Valley with the boys from the Consistory, Greg advised me that there was a good turn out for this event and a Good Time was had by all. Remember if you are going to golf, Please let Greg know a few days in advance, so he can set up the tee times. Greg’s number is 681-9036.

May 7th began with light refreshments at 6:20pm, followed by Brother David Constable receiveing his Fellowcraft Degree at 7:00pm.This Degree was conferred by Worshipful Master Mel Moore. We at Home Lodge welcome you David, and we look forward to you becoming a Master Mason, and able to join us in all our work and labors.

May 14th was our Stated Meeting, the evening started with our meal at 6:30pm with Pork Loin roast and all the fixings, Thank you Brother Jr. Warden, and to all that helped prepare this wonderful meal. After the meal we had our Stated Meeting at 7:30pm, where Worshipful Brother Greg Spooner one of our Trustees stated that our roof repair would take place the last two weeks of June and the Lodge repair would be done in July, the last two weeks. We hope that this will not be a burden to any of our other Bodies who use our Temple.

May 21st we again had a Degree night that began with light refreshments at 6:20pm, followed by Brother Mick Corcoran receiveing his Fellowcraft Degree at 7:00pm. The degree was conferred by Worshipful Master Mel Moore. Thank you Brother Mick for chooseing Home Lodge, we look forward to you becoming a Master Mason in the near future.

May 28th Home Lodge had its “Forth” Master Mason Degree of the year for Brother David Constable. The evening begain with a fine meal of Ham and Beans and Cornbread at 6:oopm, followed by a very fine Degree at 7:00pm, conferred by Worshipful Brother Jerry Mellor, and Worshipful Brother Dick Tharp as King Solomon in the 2nd section. Congratulations Brother on being our newest Master Mason, we hope you will attend Lodge on a regular basis and join us in our future Degrees as a cast member.

May 30th The Order of the Eastern Star held a Minute Steak Fundraising dinner at Home Lodge, I know that monies were made, but it could have been more if our Lodge Brothers had showed up in “Full Force”. Remember Brothers, these other bodies need our help and support just as much as we need theirs in making each Event a Success.
