Lodge News: May 2009
April took over where March left off, More Degree work and more events .Brethren, we are very fortunate to have new people coming to Home Lodge wanting to become Masons. Not all of the Lodges in the city and surrounding areas are as fortunate as we are, so let us be Thankfull for all we have going on with our work and our events, but more importantly let’s get out and support these Degrees, and all the events.
The 9th was our Stated Meeting and Meal; it was our Easter meal so of course we had Ham and all the fixings to go with it. It was really nice to see Brother John Shepherd and Darlene out for the meal. For those of you who were not there you sure did miss out on John being himself, what a Blessing it is to see how he has progressed in just a couple of months, more proof that the power of Prayer works. God Bless You John, Darlene and Vicky.
The 16th was our First Fish Fry and Prospect night of the year, again this was very well attended and the food was great. Thanks to all who helped make this another Home Lodge success. Without your continued support these types of events could not take place. Great Job Guys and Thank You for bringing your Ladies.
The 19th of April the Daughters of the Nile, Netaker Temple #11 held their Open Installation at Home Lodge, Congratulations to Queen Bettie Vannausdle and all of her Elected and Appointed Officers of 2009. Thank you all who were able to attend. I know this meant a lot to”Miss” Bettie.
April 23rd we had “Two” 1st Degrees for Mr. Mick Corcoran and Mr. David Constable, both Degrees were conferred by Worshipful Brother David Minor. Congratulations to both on becoming the newest Masons of Home Lodge you have joined the Finest Fraternaty any man could ever be a part of in his entire life. Thank You for chooseing Home Lodge, we look forward to your Fellowcraft and Master Mason Degrees. It was a pleasure to see all the Brothers from Prarie City and Rite Worshipful Brother Dwight McDonald from Montague Lodge #117.
On the 25th of April, The White Shrine held their Chicken/Beef and Noodle Dinner at Home Lodge. Thanks to All who helped on prep day and the day of the dinner for making this another succesful event.
On April 30th we had a 1st Degree for Mr. Trevor Grass; again this Degree was conferred by Worshipful Brother David Minor. We Congratulate you Brother Grass on becoming the newest Mason of Home Lodge, and look foreward to completeing your 2nd and 3rd Degrees. All Three of these new Brothers will surely add to our now Strong Masonic Bodie here at Home.
Dues Reminder
Our Secretary has asked once again to remind all those who have not yet payed their 2009 dues, to please do so at this time by remitting your monies to Bud Erickson at 4423 SW Caulder Ave, Des Moines Iowa 50321-1821. Please remember Brethren these dues help “Our” Lodge to opperate and function during that year.
